CENTRALBATAM.CO.ID, BINTAN –The chief of Bintan’s Public Health Offices through the Head of Disease Control and Environmental Health, Docter Horas, said wills Tightens Control Tourists from Singapore.

He explained, Zika is spread mostly by the bite of an infected Aedes species mosquito (Ae. aegypti and Ae. albopictus). These mosquitoes are aggressive daytime biters. They can also bite at night. And Zika can be passed from a pregnant woman to her fetus. Infection during pregnancy can cause certain birth defects.
“There is no vaccine or medicine for Zika. So, we have protected our citizens before it happen,” said Horas 31st August 2016.
“Because based on information from WHO on 27 and 28 August 2016 have reported 41 cases of the disease were confirmed Zika’s virus came from Singapore,” he added.
Furthermore, he said, moved to the WHO information, the Indonesian Health Ministry sent a warn letter to all parties concerned to this disease will not spread in Indonesia state. Therefore, in the letter was written in order to sea and air transportation agencies require travelers from Singapore to fill Health Alert Card (HAC) form.
“The visitors also should check their body using Digital Infrared Thermal Scanner to make sure that they are infected or not,” he explained.
“According to this, the ministry also has sent a circular letter to all officers of the harbor and sea transportation. So, if a tourist found infected by Zika virus, must be quarantined immediately, “he added.
“If necessary, we immediately repatriated them to their country,” he concluded
